Jesus Said “I Have Overcome the World” (Why? Oh, just for Little Ole Me – and You!)

“In Revelation 2:17 we read, He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna. But what are we to overcome?  Well, let us look to what Jesus said, These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world– John 16:33. Jesus overcame the world, its negative powers, its destructive forces that still weigh heavily upon the believer, but when we look to him who overcame, then his peace is enjoyed, and the victory is realized, and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith– I John 5:4. Faith causes one to be an overcomer, and faith is believing trust in the truth that we indeed have overcome as our Lord and Savior has, which is explicitly stated here: Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God– I John 5:5. And he or she that overcomes the world will be enjoying the hidden manna with its sweet taste of success.” ~LMJ~
