Heirs According to the Hope of Eternal Life

But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared {note the exclusion of wrath, anger, and vengeance, but rather the inclusion of God’s kindness and love!}. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration {i.e., a new birth in Christ, I Peter 1:23}, and renewing of the Holy Ghost {holy spirit}; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life– Titus 3:4-7. Well, these verses take all the guesswork and the work out of our being saved because we are justified by his grace and we become heirs of the hope of eternal life that is promised and given to all believers through the kindness and love of our God. Please notice that all this was given without our works or money, and we received by our believing what God promised all the way back from the beginning, as II Thessalonians 2:13 discloses the truth that, God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth.” ~LMJ~
