God Hears Us

Written by Larry M. Jaynes:

I John 5:14 – And this is the confidence that we {can} have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

Notice that John states “if we ask any thing according to his will.” Knowing the will of God becomes significantly important when wanting to request and receive anything promised to us in God’s Word. Once we become acquainted with God’s Word, the Word itself will begin building our confidence and believing faith so that when we do ask God for something we will know that God hears us. Then we can not only expect what we ask from God, but we will also receive from Him as well.

I John 5:15 – And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

“Whatsoever we ask” is quite incredible, because when we ask for anything in God’s Word, we will have the actual petitions that God desires to hear. The more we realize that God hears us, the greater our believing becomes, and the more we will receive from Him.

Psalm 36:5-10:
-5:  Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and they faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.
-6:  Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.
-7:  How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
-8:  They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
-9:  For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
-10:  O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

As our confidence in God’s Word grows in the heart of our hearts, then the blessings in His Word (like those in the Psalm above) can become for us realities.

In time, we can find ourselves not simply looking at the Bible as mere words on a page, but rather, we can find ourselves immersed in them because we will know that God hears us, and with that renewed confidence we will begin enjoying all the blessings of God (Ephesians 1:3-4).

Have a great day building confidence in God’s precious Word to you, knowing that God indeed hears you.
