Romans – Revealing Our Justification

Written by Larry M. Jaynes:

The Epistle of Romans reveals that Jesus Christ has provided justification for every believer.

Justification means just if I’d never sinned, since we have been spiritually acquitted of all wrongdoing before our God.

Due to the original sin and man’s fall in Genesis, justification has been wanting deep within the soul of man; this prevented man from boldly walking with God. However, Jesus gave his life, the righteous for the unrighteous, to permanently justify man again.

Romans 4:25 – Who {Jesus Christ} was delivered {to his death} for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

The “offences” do not refer to sins that we might commit, but rather it refers to the sin nature that all men and women have. The sin nature was passed down to all of humanity by the fall of Adam in Genesis (Romans 5:12); this is the offences that verse 25 is referring to.

Romans 5:17-18:
-17: For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one {Adam}; much more they which receive abundance of grace {this is us} and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.
-18: Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men {how many? “All”} to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

Adam’s offence brought sin, condemnation, and death. However, Jesus Christ brought life!

The result of the complete work of Christ is that we can have “justification of life,” i.e., eternal life. The word justification also means an action taken which establishes right. It is the establishment of men and women to be just and to receive their complete acquittal from any and all guilt.

Romans 5:1-2:
-1: THEREFORE being justified by faith {believing faith}, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
-2: By whom also we have access by faith {believing faith} into this grace {of God} wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

With our own believing faith in the accomplishments of Jesus Christ, believing that he was raised for our justification, we can absolutely experience with rejoicing that we now have peace with God. God’s peace is given to anyone who will simply believe in Jesus Christ who in turn reveals our own access into the grace of God.

We may anticipate the hope of Jesus’ return from the glory of God’s heavenly home to gather us up to be with them in glory and in this we can “rejoice.”

Romans 8:1-2:
-1: THERE is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
-2: For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

When we allow Jesus Christ into our lives and hearts, then we can enjoy our lives down here without condemnation. Jesus Christ was our complete substitute, giving us freedom to enjoy a greater law than that of sin and death, for we are now endowed with the law of the spirit of life to walk with our heavenly Father, having obtained total access into His grace.

We are eternally acquitted from the sin nature through the resurrection of Christ, and we are given a life freed from all life-draining condemnation, to enjoy Our Complete Justification in Christ.

Christ Jesus Hath Made Me Free!

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death– Romans 8:2. The human race has been under the law of sin and death since the fall of Adam; however, today, because of the believing of Jesus Christ and the actions he took for us, we are now under a new law, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. This new law has given us freedom in Christ and has presented us with the actual faith of Christ himself in order that we may believe God’s Word regarding our current standing with Him as those who have been made free, and as those who have received the faith of Christ (Romans 3:22 and Galatians 3:22).” ~LMJ~
